As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
Thursday 1 November
10.30am Join Huddersfield Library staff for a story walk based on classic picture book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. Weather appropriate Halloween fancy dress is encouraged and all ages are welcome. Tickets are free but you need to book as places are limited.
Wednesday 7 November
2.45pm Friends of Greenhead Park committee meeting in the Greenhead Park pavilion (please note change of time for the winter months).
Sunday 11 November
10.25am Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday fall on the same day this year so the annual ceremony in Greenhead Park will be the main remembrance event for Huddersfield. Gather at the Trinity Street gates from 9.45am to assemble for a parade to the War Memorial at 10.25am with veterans and military bands. There will be a short service at the memorial at 10.50 am followed by the two-minutes silence at 11am. After the service the parade will reform and the salute will be taken en route back to the Trinity Street gates where the parade will conclude.
