As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting. Please note that events are subject to current Covid-19 regulations.

Monday 9 May

10am – 11am Pram-friendly walk in the park organised by Parent Sanctuary, a group whose aim is to improve the physical and mental health of children and their parents.

Wednesday 11 May

11am – 12noon The WomenCentre Menopause support project are holding monthly wellness walks in the park, followed by coffee and a chat. For more details, contact helen.pegg@womencentre.org.uk or visit the project’s Facebook page.

4.45pm & 7pm Circus Starr offers a real treat for families with special needs, bringing all the fun of the circus to children and families that may have found this difficult in the past. Free tickets will be sent to children and their families through a network of hospices, schools, hospitals, regional branches of national charities and support groups.  If you would like to apply for tickets to the shows in Greenhead Park as part of a school, organisation or charity, contact the donated ticket team (Jo/Larissa) on 01260 288690 or email larissa@circus-starr.org.uk. Individual families can also apply for tickets direct to Circus Starr.

Saturday 14 May

1pm Huddersfield Petanque Club invites women and girls to come and try the game of Petanque at a free Ladies Day on the Greenhead Park terrain (by the Marsh Gates near the skate park). Boules will be provided – just remember to wear sensible shoes – no sandals. Free tea, coffee and biscuits all afternoon.

Friday 27 May to Sunday 5 June

The annual beach-themed funfair returns for the Spring Bank half term holiday.
