As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
Tuesday 1 May
7pm Friends of Greenhead Park committee meeting in the Greenhead Park pavilion.
Wednesday 2 May
12.20pm – 1.30pm ‘Washday at Grandma’s’ is the topic for the first talk in the 2018 Friends of Greenhead Park History Hour programme. Howard Robinson will take a trip down memory lane, complete with visual aids, recalling those happy days before the advent of automatic washing machines and tumble driers! History Hour sessions are held in the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building by the tennis courts). Free – no need to book.
Saturday 12 May
9.30am – 10.30am Fundraising and deaf awareness hour organised byKirklees Deaf Children’s Society. Their information stall will be outside the Greenhead Park Pavilion by the bowling greens.
Saturday 26 May – Sunday 3 June
1pm – 8pm (7pm Sunday) Come to the Beach – the popular beach-themed fun fair – returns to Greenhead Park for the Spring Bank half term holiday. Entrance is by wristband only at £7.99 per session, or £2.50 for parents or guardians not riding but accompanying children. Weekday sessions are 1pm – 5pm & 4pm – 8pm, Saturdays 1pm – 4pm, 3pm – 6pm & 5pm – 8pm, and Sundays 1pm – 4pm & 3pm – 7pm. Once inside all rides and the beach are free.
