As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
Wednesday 6 March
2.30pm Friends of Greenhead Park committee meeting in the Greenhead Park pavilion (please note change of time for the winter months).
Saturday 23 March
10.30am Huddersfield Library are celebrating Shakespeare Week with a Midsummer Night’s Dream Storywalk in the park. Join in to hear an enchanting story and hunt for a colourful cast of characters including bickering fairies, a mischievous sprite and an actor called Bottom. Meet outside the Conservatory, fancy dress encouraged. Age recommendation 5+ (adult supervision required). Tickets are free but booking is essential.
2pm – 4pm Friends of Greenhead Park Annual General Meeting in the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building by the tennis courts). Hear about the Friends’ activities and plans, raise park issues with our local councillors and Park staff and elect the committee for 2019. After the meeting there will be tea and cakes – and a chance for an informal chat.
Members of the Friends can vote and stand for election to the Committee, but everyone is welcome to come along. You can join the Friends for a one-off payment of £5. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to help with projects or join the committee. If you’d like to know more about what’s involved, please contact us.
