March 2018

As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.

Saturday 3 March

12.30pm – 2pm Get creative in the park with the Greenhead Park Art Club for kids (accompanied by an adult). It runs once a month at the weekend during term time with occasional weekday sessions during school holidays. Join artist Kim Searle in Greenhead Park’s Community Room to have a go at imaginative art activities inspired by nature. Explore new materials, learn new skills and create colourful and original art works to take home.  Activities are suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years. Places are limited so you need to book in advance via the Greenhead Park Art Club’s Facebook page or e-mail kimsearlecrafts@gmail.com. Cost: £5 per child – payable on the day.

Tuesday 6 March

7pm Friends of Greenhead Park committee meeting in the Greenhead Park pavilion.

Saturday 17 March

2pm Friends of Greenhead Park Annual General Meeting in the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building by the tennis courts). All welcome. Hear about the Friends’ activities and plans, raise park issues with our local councillors and Park staff and elect the committee for 2018.  After the meeting there will be tea and cakes – and a chance for an informal chat. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to help with projects or join the committee. If you’d like to know more about what’s involved, please contact us.

Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April

1pm – 4pm Come on down to the park for the Easter Weekend Special on the miniature railway – usual fares apply. On Easter Monday all the takings have kindly been donated to the FoGP play train fund.
