All events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
Regular events this month
Mondays
10.30am – 11.30am Greenhead Park Health Walk – an easy walk of up to an hour with a trained walk leader. Health Walks are suitable for all ages and abilities, particularly if you have not walked regularly for some time. They are also a great way to meet new people and enjoy a chat whilst doing something that can benefit your health. Meet outside the cafe opposite the tennis courts.
Wednesdays
10.30am – 11.30am Buggymovers session for new mums who want to get back in shape – all you need is a baby in a buggy and comfortable trainers or walking shoes. Cost: £2.50 per mum and buggy. Meet at the cafe opposite the tennis courts. More info from Gill Logan 01484 234097
1.30pm – 3pm Friends of Greenhead Park Drop-in session in the Greenhead Park Community Room.
2.30pm – 4pm Friends of Greenhead Park weekly gardening session (weather permitting). Meet at 2.20pm the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building near the tennis courts). Tools provided – come dressed for gardening!
Fridays
10.30am & 1.30pm Nordic walking – a fun and social activity for walkers of all ages which uses over 90% of the body’s muscles. Walks (5km) last for about an hour – meet outside the cafe opposite the tennis courts. For people who are new to Nordic walking, there’s a free half-hour session prior to the walk to learn the basic techniques, and poles are available for a small hire charge of £1 a session. Saturdays
9am Free weekly 5km timed run, open to everyone who has registered with the organisers, Parkrun. You can find out more and register at parkrun.
10am – 11am Fit4Force outdoor fitness training session. Four week training packages cost £25 – go to Fit4Force for more details and to book.
