There are plenty of regular weekly activities in the park, either free or at a small charge, so why not come down and join in! Contact us if you have ideas for other activities you’d like to see.
1pm – 2pm Buggymovers session for new mums who want to get back in shape – all you need is a baby in a buggy and comfortable trainers or walking shoes. Cost: £5 per mum and buggy (dads and grandparents welcome too!). Meet at the cafe opposite the tennis courts. Contact Jackie on 07950 870950 for more details. 1pm Join Huddersfield Petanque Club for a petanque (boules) session on the terrain by the Marsh gates. Newcomers and visitors welcome to come along and find out more about the game. The Club will put on taster days for groups by arrangement too.

11.30am – 12.30pm Free weekly Health Walk aimed at people with disabilities organised by Huddersfield Town Foundation. Meet outside the top cafe opposite the tennis courts. Call Josh on 07741 671061 for more information.

1.30pm – 2.30pm Friends of Greenhead Park Drop-in session in the Greenhead Park pavilion by the bowling greens.
From 1.30pm Friends of Greenhead Park weekly gardening session – weather permitting.
Join this friendly group who help park staff with weeding, planting and other seasonal tasks. Meet at the Pavilion by the bowling greens. Tools provided – come dressed for gardening!
11am Join a free weekly Health Walk in the park starting at the Trinity Street gates near the conservatory. The walks are led by a trained walk leader and are a great way to meet new people and enjoy a chat while doing something that can benefit your health. After the walk, free tea and coffee is provided at Holy Trinity Church. Call Toni on 01484 513213 to find out more.
11am – 12.30pm Gentle yoga class for less able people with ME, other neurological or similar conditions in the Greenhead Park Community Room (next to the cafe by the tennis courts). Cost £6 – mats and other yoga equipment are provided.
12.45pm for 1pm start Monthly MacMillan Health Walk on the first Thursday of the month for anyone affected by cancer. Meet at the conservatory. Call Helen or Mandy for more details on 01484 343614 or 01422 222709.

10am -11.30am Nordic walking – a fun and social activity for walkers of all ages which uses over 90% of the body’s muscles. Meet at the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building by the tennis courts). Training is provided for people new to Nordic walking, and you can now borrow walking poles free of charge. 10am – 11am Buggymovers fitness session – as on Mondays.
9am Free weekly 5km timed run, open to everyone who has registered with the organisers, Parkrun. You can find out more and register at parkrun.
1.30pm – 4pm The Greenhead Park miniature railway aims to open on Saturday afternoons from March to October – weather and volunteers permitting. Fares are £1.50 a ride, and £4 for a family (up to 5 people). If you would like to help to keep the trains running, please contact Huddersfield Society of Model Engineers.
9am Huddersfield Junior Parkrun, a 2k weekly run especially for 4-14 year olds. Like the amazingly popular Saturday Parkrun, it’s free but you need to register with parkrun. You only need to register once, so juniors who already run on Saturdays don’t need to register again.
