As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.

Thursday 5 December

12.45pm A new monthly Macmillan Health Walk offers a little physical activity and social time for people affected by cancer or supporting someone through it. Meet at the Greenhead Park conservatory for a gentle walk round the park starting at 1pm, with an optional drink in the cafe afterwards. Sunday 8 December

3.15pm Get in the Christmas mood with the Friends of Greenhead Park and Lindley Junior School Choir at a concert of Christmas music & carols in the Greenhead Park Conservatory. Entry is free – collection for Friends of Greenhead Park. There will be a raffle for a Christmas hamper plus seasonal refreshments on sale from 3pm to raise funds for the Friends. The Park cafe behind the conservatory will also be open with their usual range of teas, coffees, cakes etc.

Saturday 21 December

1.30pm Free S2R Ramblers walk. Meet at the Trinity Street gates for a 4 mile walk through TP Woods and exploring the local area led by Christine from Huddersfield Ramblers.

Wednesday 25 December

9am Special Christmas Day parkrun, the usual 5k timed run but on Christmas Day! Last year there were 708 runners, so you won’t be on your own. No dress code – you can wear your PJs if you like. The cafe obviously won’t be open so bring a drink with you.
