As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Events are free (unless otherwise specified) and all are welcome to join in. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
Saturday 2 December
4pm – 5pm Get in the Christmas mood with the Friends of Greenhead Park and Gledholt Male Voice Choir at a free concert of Christmas music & carols in the Greenhead Park Conservatory. Seasonal refreshments will be on sale from 3.30pm and there will be a raffle to raise funds for our play train. There will be a collection at the end of the concert in aid of the Choir.
Tuesday 5 December
7pm Friends of Greenhead Park committee meeting in the Greenhead Park pavilion.
Saturday 9 December
12.30pm – 2pm Festive crafts are on the agenda at the December Greenhead Park Art Club session. The club is suitable for kids aged 5 to 10 years (must be accompanied by an adult) and takes place in the Greenhead Park Community Room (next to the cafe by the tennis courts). Sunday 17 & Monday 18 December
9.30am – 11.30am Fancy meeting Santa – and enjoying a special ‘all you can eat’ breakfast? Then come on down to The Park café in the conservatory for an unlimited choice of full English and continental breakfast, yoghurt and fruit bar, freshly baked morning goods, tea, coffee and a selection of juices all for a festive price of £10.95. Tuesday 26 December
11am Get off the couch and down to Greenhead Park for the 71st annual game of Tasmanian Rugby! This unusual game, played with a pyramid-shaped ball, has been a Boxing Day fixture on the main playing field since 1947. Come along for a bit of fun – only 10 minutes each way!
