Events

Plans for 2012 are well in hand – with special events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Olympic Games, and fifty years of Jamaican Independence.  Now that the restoration work is complete, the park will be welcoming back some popular large events, like the Huddersfield Carnival, and playing host to exciting new events too.  Check our monthly listings for all the details!

2011 saw lots of successful smaller scale events, such as Tai Chi and dulcimer playing demonstrations, the WI Tea & Tarts Hamper Hullabaloo, various charity fundraisers and much more.  If you are interested in putting on an event or running an activity in the Park in 2012 – either outside or in the Greenhead Park Community Room – contact Park Activity Officer, Chris Smith (chrisl.smith@kirklees.gov.uk), for more information and booking details.

Some activities happen every week and there’s a full programme of other events and activities throughout the year too. Check out our month by month events listing, using the drop down menu above, to find out more about what’s happening in the park.  You can also get up to the minute information about events and activities on Chris Smith’s Greenhead Park Facebook page.

If you are organising an event in the Park and would like to add it to our listing, please contact us.
