Welcome to the website of the Friends of Greenhead Park.
We are an independent voluntary group that works with Kirklees council and others to ensure that our park is safe, attractive and well used. This website tells you more about the Friends and park facilities and brings you the latest news on what’s happening in the park as well as details of events and activities.
If you care about Greenhead Park and would like to be part of its future, why not join us? Our 2016 AGM is coming up on Saturday 5 March at 2pm in the Greenhead Park Community Room (in the cafe building by the tennis courts) when there’s a chance to find out more about what we do – and to get more involved if you’d like to.
Drop in and see us
Every Wednesday we hold a drop-in session in the park from 1.30 pm to 2.30pm. You’ll find us in the Pavilion by the bowling greens. This bright modern building with its eco-friendly green roof provides a much-needed base for both the Friends and the Greenhead Park Bowling Club and was opened in October 2012.
Anyone is welcome to call in for a cup of tea and a chat and we’ll do our best to answer any queries on park management, activities, park history and so on. We can also tell you more about the work of the Friends and how to get involved. You can buy Friends of Greenhead Park publications at the drop-in session too, including our recently published history of Greenhead Hall.
