The tennis and MUGA courts, petanque terrain, bowling greens and skate park are all open for use.  The paddling pool,  zip wire and miniature railway remain closed. Please observe the safety advice from Kirklees Council on use of play areas and the current social distancing regulations.

The public toilets have now reopened – please use them responsibly.

The Cafe in the Park (by the tennis courts) is fully open with both outdoor and indoor seating. You can check their Facebook page for any updates.

The Park cafe at the back of the conservatory is now offering a take-away menu with outdoor seating available.

We are not able to hold our Wednesday afternoon drop-in session at the moment, but do contact us if you have any queries about the Friends group or the park.

Events and regular weekly activities are gradually starting to happen. See our events page for details.

Welcome to the website of the Friends of Greenhead Park.

We are an independent voluntary group that works with Kirklees council and others to ensure that our park is safe, attractive and well used. This website tells you more about the Friends and park facilities and brings you the latest news on what’s happening in the park as well as details of events and activities.

NEW: We’ve recently added a page on Children’s activities where you can download our brand new Explore, Discover & Play activity sheet.

If you care about Greenhead Park and would like to be part of its future, why not join us?

Drop in and see us

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEvery Wednesday we hold a drop-in session in the park from 1.30 pm to 2.30pm. You’ll find us in the Pavilion by the bowling greens. This bright modern building with its eco-friendly green roof provides a much-needed base for both the Friends and the Greenhead Park Bowling Club and was opened in October 2012.

Anyone is welcome to call in for a cup of tea and a chat and we’ll do our best to answer any queries on park management, activities, park history and so on. We can also tell you more about the work of the Friends and how to get involved.

Keep in touch

If you’d like occasional updates on the work of the Friends and events and activities in the Park, why not join our e-mail update list.  Just contact us putting E-mail update in the message box. We will not share your details with anyone else and you can unsubscribe at any time if you no longer want to hear from us.

You can now follow us on Twitter, and Instagram, and there’s a Greenhead Park Facebook page too.
